Terms of Service

Version 0.1 (draft outline) - effective date not set. Previous versions

Draft outline for counsel. Not the binding text. The headings are a suggested structure; the lines under them are the product facts counsel needs (FABLE-045 step 28).

1. Who we are

The legal entity, its registered address and registration number. [step 29]

2. The service

A hosted application for household books and shared trip expenses. Accounts are created by invitation today; self-registration is a later step. Nothing is installed by the customer.

3. Eligibility

18 and over only. The application takes an 18+ confirmation at account creation.

4. Accounts and security

One person per account. Household owners and administrators must keep a second factor. What we do if an account is misused (see acceptable use). The application is the only authentication gate; every financial write is recorded in an append-only audit trail.

5. Plans and payment

Added when paid plans switch on. Seller of record and payment route [D1]; prices [D3]; the refund policy is a separate document.

6. Acceptable use

By reference to the acceptable use page.

7. Your content

Receipts, names and records you enter are yours; we process them to run the service. Financial records are voided and corrected, never edited, and the audit trail of them is never deleted.

8. Other people's data you enter

Names and email addresses of people you invite, and names and dates of birth of dependents you add. The customer's responsibility to have the right to enter them.

9. Availability and changes

No uptime promise unless the owner makes one. Maintenance windows; the right to change features with notice.

10. Termination

By the customer: delete the account in the application (see data requests for what stays). By us: for breach, with notice where the law requires it.

11. Liability and disclaimers

Counsel's text. The product gives no financial advice and is a record-keeping tool.

12. Governing law and disputes

Counsel's text, following the entity's jurisdiction. [step 29]

13. Changes to these terms

Versioned; notice before a new version takes effect; the version accepted is recorded against the account; continued use after the effective date.

14. Contact

The contact page.
