What Closestify does.
Two kinds of books, one set of rules about money, and the people you share them with.

Trips and settlement
- Record each expense in the currency on the receipt. Split it equally, by exact amounts, by percentages, by shares, or item by item.
- Say who benefited and who bears the cost, separately. Treat a guest and they owe nothing; cover a gift for someone who was not there.
- Every balance adds up to zero, always. The trip proposes one list of payments that settles everyone, and you record each payment as it happens, including partial ones.
- A group budget for the trip and a private budget of your own, with the whole amount of each expense counted against the one you choose.
- Close the trip when it is over. A closed trip refuses new entries; reopen it if you must.

Households and budgets
- Accounts of four kinds: cash, bank, card and e-wallet. Income, expenses and transfers between them; a transfer is never counted as spending.
- Categories that nest one level, with sensible defaults you can change.
- Monthly budgets with what is left of the period, and the receipts behind each entry.
- Nothing is edited after it is posted. A mistake is voided and a corrected entry added, and both stay in the history. Someone else can be asked to approve a change.
- Claim periods, so that a month can be closed and only reopened on purpose.
- Export the transactions as CSV, with the currency code on every line.

Receipts
- Attach a photo or a PDF to any expense or transaction. It opens on the page, and Download is one tap away.
- Enter a receipt line by line and tick who had each item. A shared dish is split between the people who shared it. Tax, service, tips, fees, discounts and cash rounding each have their own line, shared in proportion to what each person had or equally.
- Service charges and tips can be typed as a percentage; the amount it works out is what is saved, and the figure printed on the receipt always wins.
- Location and camera data are removed from photos before they are stored.

Itinerary and maps
- Plan the trip stop by stop. Each stop has a place, a date, who is going, and a planned cost; the actual cost is a trip expense like any other.
- A map with numbered pins in visit order; a place visited more than once is one pin with its visit numbers around it.
- Routes between stops, on foot, by car or by public transport, with up to three alternatives, worked out by a routing service. Cancelled stops are skipped.
- Each stop is planned, confirmed, completed or cancelled. At the end of the day, reconcile what happened against what was planned.
- Travel Assist uses your phone's location, only after you have switched it on, to help with the stop you are at. It costs nothing to use and is not AI.

People and roles
- Invite people by email, several at once, each with a role you choose. Everyone starts as a viewer unless you say otherwise.
- Keep an address book of the people you invite often. Only you can see it. Invite someone you already share with by their account, without ever seeing their email address.
- Household roles: owner, member, viewer. Trip roles: organizer, contributor, viewer. A viewer sees everything and changes nothing.
- One person can answer for the people travelling with them. A partner or a child who does not use the app is still named on every expense, and their share lands on the account of the person answering for them.
- Dependents, with the age-based pricing an itinerary stop may need.
