What's new.

Every change that reached the product, in the words the app itself uses. The same notes appear in the app after you sign in.

- The Add Expense bar shows everything

  • On phones and narrow windows, the bar at the bottom of Add Expense now always shows the amount, the full message about what is missing, and the Add expense button.
  • When they do not fit on one line, the bar uses a second line instead of hiding the amount or cutting the message short.

- Safer sign-in

  • Too many sign-in attempts in a short time from one place are now paused for a few minutes, and the page tells you how long to wait. This covers signing in, the second step, resetting a password and accepting an invitation.
  • If an administrator resets your two-factor sign-in, you are now asked to set it up again the next time you sign in with your password. A passkey you have registered keeps working.
  • An invitation link now looks the same to everyone, so opening it no longer shows whether an address already has an account.

- Your contacts, and inviting people you already share with

  • You now have an address book: Contacts, in the menu. Add the people you invite often, with a name and an email address. Only you can see your contacts.
  • People you invite by email are saved to your contacts automatically, so next time you can simply tick them.
  • The invite page lists your contacts and the people you already share a household or a trip with. Tick the ones you want - each becomes a line with its own role, a Viewer unless you change it.
  • Someone you already share with is invited through their own account. They get the invitation at their account's email address, and you are never shown that address - only their name.
  • An invitation sent to someone's account can be accepted only by that person, signed in.

- Invite several people at once

  • The invite page now takes several email addresses in one go: type or paste them, and each becomes a line with its own name and role. One click sends them all, and you see every person's link once.
  • Everyone starts as a Viewer unless you choose otherwise, for everyone or for one person. A role can still be changed after they join.
  • Right after you create a household or a trip, you are offered the invite page - or you can skip it and invite people later.
  • Someone who was removed from a household or trip and is invited back by an owner now rejoins as the same person, with their history, instead of meeting an error. Removing someone also withdraws any invitation still waiting for them. Someone who is already a member is simply told so.
  • After replacing an invitation, the new link is shown straight away.

- Fixes across trips and households

  • Requesting a change to an expense divided by exact amounts now lets you set each person's amount for the new total, and the request can be approved.
  • Amounts in currencies without cents, such as JPY and KRW, are shown without decimals in the trip expense and receipt lists, and a withdrawn expense is marked Withdrawn.
  • A closed household no longer offers buttons to add or change anything, and a Viewer no longer sees them either.
  • A role change in a household's or trip's history now says what the role was and what it became.
  • The photo preview when attaching a receipt works again, and PDF receipts that contain web links are accepted.
  • On the itinerary map, a skipped stop at the same place as another stop no longer covers its pin.

- Service charges and tips by percentage

  • A service charge or tip on a receipt can now be entered as a percentage: type the rate, for example 10, and choose "Work it out". The amount it fills in is what is saved, and you can still change it to the figure printed on the receipt.
  • When tax is already included in the item prices, choose whether percentages are of the items before tax or the items as printed.
  • If the lines add up to more than the receipt total you typed, one click makes the receipt total match them.

- Receipts show who had what, with tax and service

  • A receipt entered line by line can now name its tax, service charge, tip, fees, discounts and cash rounding, instead of one kind of charge for all of them.
  • If the prices already include the tax, tick "Already included in the item prices": the receipt still adds up, and each person's items are shown before tax. Type the rate from your receipt and "Work it out" suggests the amount; the figure printed on the receipt is what counts.
  • One switch decides whether tax and service are shared in proportion to what each person had or equally between everyone on the receipt. A line can still keep its own choice under More options.
  • The Review and the saved expense show a table of each person's items, tax, service and their part of the receipt.

- Receipts open on the page

  • Choosing a receipt on an expense or a household transaction now shows it on the page instead of downloading it. Click anywhere outside it, press Escape or choose Close to put it away.
  • A PDF receipt is shown the same way where your browser can show a PDF inside a page. Where it cannot, as on many phones, the viewer offers Open in a new tab and Download instead of starting a download by itself.
  • Download is still one tap away in the viewer.

- Who owes whom

  • The Review at the end of Add Expense now says whom each person owes, not only how much. Choose the ? beside a person's figure to see what this expense adds and where they stand across the whole trip, payments already recorded included.
  • When several people paid, the Review names who owes whom. Someone who paid part of the bill but still owes money is never shown as someone to be paid.
  • Itemized receipts and custom amounts in another currency now show their exact figures in the Review before you save, and the saved expense page explains who owes whom for that expense.
  • Suggested settlements and recorded settlements now follow one rule: a payment can be recorded up to what the payer owes overall and the recipient is owed overall, so every suggested payment can be recorded. A payment to someone who cannot undo it, such as a guest without an account, is recorded by an organizer.

- Who benefited, in words

  • With Custom amounts, each person's row under Who benefited now says what they bear in words, for example bears KRW 10,000 or bears nothing. The figure that used to sit beside each name is no longer shown there: it was what the person benefited, and it read as what they pay.
  • With One person covers it all or Custom amounts, the ways of dividing the benefit are folded away each time you choose who bears the cost. Open Change how the benefit is divided to use them: Equally, Exact amounts, Percentages, Shares and Item by item all stay available.
  • Nothing about what is saved has changed. Who benefited and who bears the cost are still recorded separately, and the Review still shows Paid, Benefited, Bears and Owes side by side.

- Add Expense asks who bears the cost first

  • The Add Expense form has a new order: after who paid, it asks Who bears the cost, and only then Who benefited. Ticking someone as having benefited never makes them owe anything by itself.
  • A Group budget expense still opens on Split among the people who benefit. When you pay from My budget and you are the only payer, the form asks whether you bear the full cost or someone owes you, and waits for your answer before it saves.
  • Nobody is suggested as the person covering a treat any more: choose who covers it yourself, whoever paid. Changing the budget, the payer or the ticks never changes what you chose.
  • Each person's row says in words who bears their part, and the Review at the end shows Paid, Benefited, Bears and Owes side by side. The ways of dividing the benefit are now called Equally, Exact amounts, Percentages, Shares and Item by item.

- Move an expense between budgets

  • An expense you recorded against the Group budget can be moved into your own budget, and one in your own budget can be moved back to the Group budget, with Move to My budget or Move to Group budget on the expense page.
  • Moving an expense changes only which budget it comes out of. Who paid, who benefited, who bears the cost and every balance stay exactly as they were.
  • The earlier record is kept as a voided original, and the expense page links it to its replacement both ways. Only you can move an expense out of your own budget.
  • A change request can now ask to move an expense to the Group budget or to your own budget, and the trip CSV export has a Budget column.

- Who benefited, and who bears the cost

  • An expense now records two things separately: who benefited from it, and who bears the cost. Tick everyone who took part, including anyone you are treating.
  • When you add an expense, answer Who bears the cost: split among the people who benefit, one person covers it all, or custom amounts per person in the receipt's own currency.
  • A treated guest stays on the expense but owes nothing for it. A gift can be borne by someone who did not benefit. Balances and settlements follow who bears the cost.
  • The expense page shows who benefited and who bears the cost, and the dashboard shows paid, benefited and bears side by side. Existing expenses are unchanged: each person bears their own part, as before.

- A group budget, and a private budget of your own

  • Every trip now has two kinds of budget: the group budget everyone shares, and a private budget for each person with their own account. The trip's existing budget is now its group budget, so there is nothing to set up again.
  • When you add an expense, choose which budget it comes out of: the group budget or My budget. The whole amount counts against the budget you choose. Who paid, and how the expense is split, do not change.
  • Only you can see your own budget's limit and what is left of it. Set or change it from the My budget card on the trip dashboard. Other people still see your expenses as they always have, marked Not in group budget.
  • The trip dashboard shows both budgets as two compact cards, with the trip's total spending beside them.

- Split a bill item by item, straight from the receipt

  • Add Expense has a new way to split: Itemized. Enter the receipt line by line, in the currency it was paid in, and tick who had each item. A dish several people shared is split equally between them.
  • Tax, service and fees are shared in proportion to what each person ordered, or equally if you prefer. A discount is taken off the same way. The form tells you how much of the receipt is still unassigned, and can add the difference as a charge.
  • The preview is worked out by the server, so it always matches what is saved. A receipt in another currency is converted once, on its total, and split after.
  • An itemized expense you open later explains each person's part of every line. A change request can rename or recategorise it, but its amount comes from its receipt.

- The odd cent now always goes where the preview says it will

  • When a split by shares or percentages cannot be divided exactly, one person carries the odd cent. In a small number of cases where two people were exactly tied for it, the saved expense could give it to a different person from the one the Add Expense preview showed. The preview was right; the saved expense now matches it.
  • Nothing already recorded changes. Only which person carries a single odd cent on a new expense could differ, and totals were never affected.

- One person can now answer for the people travelling with them

  • A traveller who has no account of their own can be recorded as someone you answer for. They still appear by name on every expense they are part of, while their share of the money lands on your account - so a couple who register once are split as two people, not one.
  • Set this on a trip's Participants page, under Travel party. You can also give each traveller a default share there, including a half share or none at all, which fills in the 'By shares' boxes when you add an expense.
  • Add Expense now keeps a travel party together, says who answers for whom, and shows the total each account will owe alongside each traveller's own amount. An expense you open later shows the same grouping.
  • Changing a travel party never alters an expense already recorded. Every expense remembers who answered for each traveller at the time it was saved.

- Your households in the feed, and a Welcome card that remembers what you have read

  • What happens to your households now reaches you: closing, reopening, deleting and restoring one, and people joining or leaving it. You are told about your own households only, and a deletion request stays between the person who raised it and the people who must decide it.
  • The card you see after signing in is ranked rather than fixed: anything waiting on your decision comes first, then what is urgent, then what is new since you last looked, and only then what is closest to your travels.
  • It no longer repeats itself. Closing the card records what it showed you, so the next one holds what has changed since - except anything still waiting on you, which stays until you have dealt with it.
  • The Updates page is unchanged and still keeps the full last 30 days, with new chips for Households and for announcements.

- A quick catch-up after you sign in, and a better trip map

  • This card now greets you after every sign-in with what changed on your trips since you last looked; the Updates page keeps the last 30 days.
  • Trips can choose how odd cents are shared out (Closestify) from Edit Trip, and every expense shows how its cents were placed.
  • A place you visit more than once is one map pin with its visit numbers around the rim; tap it to pick a visit.
  • On a phone, tapping a map pin no longer nudges it or recalculates your routes.
